Cancer Awareness and Strength of Heart - Fine silver and pearl necklace

Over the past year I have learned of three girl friends battling the fight against breast cancer, including a long time childhood friend.
They are all, like me, under the age of 40.

I came up with the design for this necklace as a tribute to those lovely ladies and their incredible inner strength.

Hugs to my amazing friends , and to the rest of you out there fighting against this disease!
You are an inspiration!

xoxo,
Andrea

Forget Me Not - My New Flower Necklaces

Forever Forget Me Not in White

Once upon a time, a Knight and his bride were walking along a river. As the Knight gathered flowers for his sweetheart he fell into the treacherous river. Just before his armor pulled him completely under he tossed the flowers to his bride and pleaded "Forget Me Not"! To this day the little blue flowers have been known as the "forget-me-not".

The newest in my flower line, this sweet little forget-me-not was handcrafted from precious metal clay. Very versatile necklace - can be worn with a dress for a night on the town, business attire, great for a wedding or even the jewelry for a bridesmaid or flower girl, or go casual with a shirt and pair of slacks!

Introducing My New Fine Silver Dog Tags

"Lace Trio"
I have recently become obsessed with dog tag style necklaces. I am having fun playing around with contrasts - elegant vs. casual. Is it possible to have both in one design??? I think so, and hopefully I've done this in these new pieces. I like the idea of wearing these pendants with jeans and a tshirt OR that slinky black dress.
"Gloriously Green Gingko"

I'm also working on a little something for the guys, so check back soon!;-)

Happy Weekend All!
Hugs,
Andrea

Sweet Summertime

"Flowers and Denim" fine silver and kyanite earrings

I just love the beginning of summer! No more getting the kids up at the crack of dawn and rushing to get to the bus on time, no more homework, no more packing lunches!!! The temperature has been back in the 80's and the kiddos and I have been having fun going to the pool, library, and local icecream shop. My husband has been able to work from home on Thursdays so I can sell my jewelry down at the 17th Street Farmer's Market.

I've been feeling very creative lately and have a new line of paintings which I will be posting soon, along with several portrait commissions I am trying to finish up.

Mermaids Dream

What do mermaids dream of? The sound of the waves, starfish, oysters, and glistening pearls of course! ;-) I seem to be dreaming of the beach myself these days. I find myself making all kinds of fine silver sea shells, starfish, and other sea creatures. Hmm, I must make a trip to the beach soon!
"Mermaids Dream"
I made this bracelet using amazonite, aquaterra jasper, freshwater pearls, sterling silver, and little handcrafted fine silver starfish and oyster charms. The fine silver charms were made from pmc (precious metal clay) which becomes .999% fine silver once fired in a kiln. They were oxidized and hand polished.
I just listed it this week, and it's already sold. I'm a bit sad to see it go, so I guess I'll have to make another sea themed bracelet.

Not Such a Bad Day After All

It started out being one of "those days" where you just have to wonder why did you have to get out of bed. Every little thing that could go wrong did - from stubbing my toe in the bathroom, to my hair dryer breaking (not good on a cold, rainy day), to the kids spilling their oj at breakfast when we needed to be headed out the door to the bus. more itty bitty cuteness - Fine Silver Owls Studs
So, ok, I was a bit cranky for most of the day, which always seems to add to the bad "karma" or whatever the ick factor is. But, this evening things started to turn around. I made my first Ruby Lane sale, yipee! And I had a couple sales on Etsy this evening. I also found out about a new place for selling on line : icraft.com. You can check out my new shop here: Artistic Creations at Icraft
So, I think I'll head off to bed on a happy note and hopefully start out tomorrow on a much better one. Night, night!

Itty Bitty and Oh So Cute (if I say so myself)

I seem to be on a kick of creating things that are tiny lately - miniature paintings aceos and pendants, and now for my Artistic Creations Jewelry line I am introducing my Itty Bitty Post Earrings. What is it about small that is just so cute? I have starfish, seashells, bunnies, frogs, and lotus blossoms. And I have many more ideas just waiting to be created.
I made an extra pair of these Lotus Blossoms for myself, to wear to yoga class.
And I just might have to make myself a pair of these Starfish too, lol! I think the hardest part of being a jewelry designer is parting with your favorites instead of just keeping them for yourself. Anyone else have this problem? :-)

Valentine Bouquet Necklace - My Latest Creation

I've been busy trying to make some jewelry items for Valentine's Day. This was one of those ideas that came to me in the middle of the night and I couldn't wait to start making it! Once again I'm using PMC (precious metal clay - .999 fine silver once fired in a kiln). I have combined the silver with czech flowers and leaves, and a gorgeous sterling silver box chain.

Just listed in my Artistic Creations shop on Etsy this evening.
