Trying Not to Hibernate

This is the current view out of my studio window.
Yup, we are officially snowed in again here in ole' Richmond Va.
I'm trying not to hibernate, but honestly I am really thinking how nice it would be to just take a nice long nap and wake up when all this messy stuff has gone and it is once again warm enough to go outside without a coat and mittens.

Since hibernating is out, I have at least managed to get myself out of my pj's and into some proper clothes. I made a nice pot of homemade vegetable soup and a loaf of beer bread for lunch. Now, if I could just get motivated to get busy in the studio.

"Be Still My Beating Heart"

I have at least taken a few photos of my newest creations to list in my Etsy shop today.
This one features one of my new bronze pieces as well as my newest addiction - crochet necklaces! I started making a few while watching movies on these snowy weekends and have become hooked. (sorry, pardon the bad pun!)

"Cherry Blossom Bling-a-ling"

Ok, I am now feeling a bit more motivated after a nice cup of tea. I'm going to see what I can come up with in the studio today.

Hoping you are all having a warm and happy Saturday!

Cancer Awareness and Strength of Heart - Fine silver and pearl necklace

Over the past year I have learned of three girl friends battling the fight against breast cancer, including a long time childhood friend.
They are all, like me, under the age of 40.

I came up with the design for this necklace as a tribute to those lovely ladies and their incredible inner strength.

Hugs to my amazing friends , and to the rest of you out there fighting against this disease!
You are an inspiration!

xoxo,
Andrea

Working on new things

I know it's been such a long time since I last blogged - geez, it's been over a month! I promise I haven't been twiddling my fingers though. Nope, I have been busy with many new and exciting things. Some of them are business related, and others are not. For example, I have started teaching fitness classes again after a two year break. I recently got certified to teach Zumba classes and have been having a blast!
I also finally got around to trying out the bag of bronze pmc I had sitting in my studio since November! I am loving it!
I'll have a lot more new goodies to show you, but those will just have to wait until tomorrow because for now I'm off to watch American Idol. ;-)

This Years Bird Tree - Happy Holidays!

This year's bird tree in the studio.
(we have another tree that is the "family" tree with all the kids ornaments in another room)

A few new bird ornaments this year.

The nests with eggs I made last year.

Sweet little glass ornaments that a I got from kateydiditglass on etsy.
Little bluejay peekaboo.

Presents are finally all wrapped, cookies are baked, and the children are nestled in bed with visions of nintendo ds and wii games in their head.
I'm off to sip a glass of egg nog and listen to a few christmas tunes while I wait for Santa to arrive.

Merry Christmas to you all and to all a good night!

Fun in the Snow

We got an unheard of amount of snow here in Richmond this past week. I think the final total was 19 inches! For the most part we have been stuck in the house for a few days. I have managed to get to the post office and ship out all those last minute orders.
After what was hopefully the last trip to the post office today, I took the boys and Zelda sledding.

This was her first run down the hill. After this she was always ahead pulling full force!
What fun!

Now it's time for some hot cocoa and more cookie baking.

Hugs,
A

Sick as a Dog

Such a strange saying, wonder where that one came from?
I've been terribly sick since Monday. I'm afraid I've had too miss out on two shows and the South of the James Market yesterday.
I'm also a bit behind on orders and convos, so thank you those of you who are patiently waiting.

My faithful friend Zelda has not left my side for a moment. Such a good girl. I know she is desperately missing our morning walks in the woods. (as am I, sigh)
Those are my legs under the fuzzy fleece in case you didn't guess. ;-)
I will try my best to get all orders out tomorrow.

Hoping you all are having a happy and healthy weekend!

Halloween - Pumpkin Painting and More

I was a Blue Flower Fairy at the Forest Hill Farmer's Market yesterday.
Just a bit cold, wet, and bedraggled since the weather took a nasty and unexpected turn on us.
The Green Goddess (aka Karen Atkinson - manager of the Market)
did some shopping at my booth.
Thanks Karen!
My Farmer Girl jewelry pal Janice

On what other day of the year would you encounter a singing goat?
Thanks for the great tunes Rona!
The boys in their costumes at the neighborhood party last Sunday.

With so many things going on this year we opted to paint pumpkins instead of carving.

It was much faster and a lot less messy! I think they turned out pretty cute and the boys had a blast!

Time to go trick-or-treating . .. . we were all a bit tired after a long, cold, wet day at the market. We even had a last minute costume change when our "ninja" decided he no longer liked his costume. Thanks to some face paint and a spare cape we had a vampire costume in 5 minutes, whew!
Hope you all had a very Happy Halloween!
