Beach Bliss

Five glorious days of sand and sun . . .

the kiss of the surf

umbrellas in every color of the rainbow

playing in the sand

watching pelicans catch their lunch

little crab playing peekaboo.

Goodbye Nags Head, we will miss you! Hello Richmond, it's good to be home. :-)
Hope you all are having a great summer!
Hugs,
Andrea

Etsy Friends

I have been having a crazy couple of weeks with a hectic family schedule, home disasters (our ac leaked in our attic and it "rained" in our master bedroom, our garage door broke, and our sliding glass door shattered), as well as trying to get everything in order before we go on vacation. So, what a wonderful surprise and much needed ray of sunshine it was to find this package waiting for me from Kara of Love for Earth the other day. I had "met" her through Etsy when I ordered some of her great produce bags which I love. She was then kind enough to custom make these great bags for my kids lunches. No more plastic bags for us, yay! Do you see these aqua ones? I am soooo stealing those for myself, they are MY color. ;-)

So thanks so much Kara! And hip-hip hooray for Etsy friends!!! I have truly met some of the most wonderful people through this great community.

Happy Weekend to you all!

Exciting New Stuff

So much going on lately with the kids wrapping up the end of another school year. Where has the time gone?
Also, lots of exciting new things on the business side of things as well . . . .

I'll be at the Pups on Parade Gala at the Science Museum this evening with some dog themed jewelry (as well as cats, horses, and bird of course).

You can also now find my jewelry at the historic Jefferson Hotel! Did you know they use to keep real live alligators in the lobby?!?! Fabulous hotel and gift shop with some wonderful history, I am so very excited to be a small part of it!

Some more BIG news . .. . I will be featured in the July issue of Richmond Magazine. Yippee!

Happy Weekend All!
Hugs,
A

Scrumptious Strawberries

the Strawberry King (king of berry picking that is, just wish I could get him to eat a few while he's at it!)

Happy Memorial Day!

Sweet sticky smell of strawberries with the sun shining and a cool breeze, we could not have asked for a better day for our berry picking adventure.

The fruits of our labor . . . aren't they just lovely!?!
Scrumpdiddyumptious . . . strawberry muffins for dessert, yum!

Strawberry Muffins:
1 ¾ cups all purpose flour
1 tbsp baking powder
½ tsp salt
¼ cup sugar
1 egg
1 ¼ cups milk
¼ cup shortening, melted
¾ cup fresh strawberries, whole or sliced

Sift together first 4 ingredients. Beat together egg, milk, and shortening. Add
liquid to the dry ingredients, only until combined. Stir in berries. Spoon into
12 medium sized, greased, muffin cups. Bake at 400 degrees for 20-25
minutes or until golden brown.

Market Tomorrow

(my booth at Arts in the Park. And my new banner - see previous post)

Oh my, I have been so negligent with me blog lately. I really do have a good excuse .. . I just can't seem to feel like myself. First I had a stomach bug or food poisoning (I'm still not sure which), and then the worst case of allergies ever these past two weeks. I'm thinking sitting in the rain all weekend at Arts in the Park probably did not help matters. Of course, it has now settled into my chest, ugh!

But. . . enough whining already . . . thanks to all of you who came out to the show last weekend! Despite the thunderstorms, it was a great show!

(a rare moment of sunshine from Sunday morning)

I'll be back at the South of the James/Forest Hill tomorrow morning . . . yippee! I can't wait to be back! I'll have lots of special's going on for Mother's Day.

It should be a gorgeous day! You Richmond peeps, come on out and say "hello", it should be tons of fun! :-)
