The Cordial Cricket

I am super excited to announce that both my paintings and jewelry can now be found at The Cordial Cricket in Chester, Va!

It is an adorable gift and stationary boutique located in the Festival Park Plaza. I found some super cute baby gifts for my brand new niece while I was there.
So yes, it has been two months since my last blog entry - yeesh. I've been on a whirlwind ride of spring shows, family birthdays, and end of the school year activities. I'm looking forward to summer so maybe life will slow down just a little.
Happy Wednesday everyone!

They have been kind enough to ask me to bring my jewelry along to sell that night.
I can't wait!
Would love to see you there!

Something New . . . For the Bride

I get some of my best ideas from my customers!!! Last year I sold one of my flower vase bouquets to a woman who was getting married. She told me that rather than doing the traditional "toss of the bouquet" she would instead do a drawing to win my necklace. I was so thrilled that my necklace was not only an important part of such a very special day, but also a fun new twist on an ancient tradition.

Since then I have had the idea to make a flower vase bouquet that could be worn by a bride. I decided to go with white czech flowers and a touch of Swarovski crystals and some czech leaves for a bit of green. This time I left the piece unoxidized (no patina finish) so it would have a shinier and slightly dressier look. I am really excited about how this piece came out. I hope this necklace has a "happily ever after" as well. ;-)

Big News!

Ok, so I disappeared to the beach for a few days on a spontaneous trip to enjoy the last week of summer with the kids, I'll share more on that later. Then, I managed to pick up a nasty bug at the beach and was very sick the past few days, I won't bother you with the details on that. So, now I can finally share my big news I promised last week (drum roll please) . . . .
My jewelry can now be found, and purchased, at the new Whole Foods opening up in Richmond's West End tomorrow 9/3!!! How cool is that?!
This is is a little sneak peek at my jewelry and display which I made myself (with a bit of help from hubby too).

Catching Up

After being out of commission for two weeks with an injured back I am now playing catch up big time! Thanks to the exercises from PT I am feeling much better. I was even able to run the vacuum and mop the floors today. I'm trying to get caught up on portrait commissions, it's been to hard to sit and paint for very long, but that's getting better too, yay! My newest porcelain creations - rings!

the view from my booth at the show
I did manage to man my own booth at the Spring Bada Bing afterall. It was a great show and a great day! The facilities were amazing and the vendors rocked! I just wish I had had a chance to shop!

Little of this, little of that

To say I have been busy lately is a bit of an understatement. I'v e had shows, charity auctions to attend, lots of portrait holiday commissions to complete, classes to teach, classes to take, and of course on-line stores to keep stocked. I find myself saying it often, but I only wish there were more hours in the day! :-) Will be listing this original acrylic painting of "Watchful Kitty" on ebay tomorrow!
I love these yellow jade roses ! I've listed my necklace in my Artistic Creations Etsy shop.

Ocean Storm

I am so in love . . . with these stones! Aquaterra Jasper - a gorgeous mix of blues the color of an ocean storm, and tans so reminiscent of the sandy beach. I couldn't wait to make something out of these beauties. The result - a pair of earrings, bracelet, and necklace! I combined them with amazonite, slate shell, and sterling silver for a earthy, but elegant contemporary look.
Here's me at the Pumpkin Centerville Festival - not sure what I was laughing about. Ended up being a gorgeous sunny day, but oh so windy! My entire display got blown over and all my necklaces ended up in a tangled heap on the ground. Luckily it was not until the end of the show!
One of the Apacas at the Festival in costume - how cute are these guys ?!?!? They have the biggest, sweetest eyes you have ever seen!
