Birthday Cupcakes and Kitchen Renovation!

Last Thursday was my birthday. Afraid I never made it to go antique shopping like I had hoped. We realized we needed to get a jump start on the kitchen demo project.
So . . ..
I spent the day ripping up the old linoleum floor. I have to say I am quite proud of myself. I did the entire floor myself. The kids and hubby helped pull up the million staples that were in the floorboard, and hubby pulled down the cabinets.
Whew!

I did take time out for a little treat - BIRTHDAY CUPCAKES from Too Sweet, yum!!!!

Here's our kitchen before . . .
goodbye ugly linoleum floor !

A long process . . .

We got the demo done and now the contractors are putting up cabinets and fixing plumbing and lighting.
So exciting!!!!

What's On My Studio Desk

Usually there are a lot of projects on my desk. I tend to work on several things at once.
Right now though, my desk is fairly empty since we are getting ready to do a major kitchen renovation.
Hubby and I are doing the demo ourselves, eek!

I thought I'd take a photo of my desk while it's actually clean! The little drawer cabinet came out of the boy's bathroom which I just finished redecorating. It's an old bathroom cabinet from Target that use to be white. I painted it to match my studio.
The adorable bird print is new and from local Richmond artist Erica Vess of Bees Knees Studio. You can find her work on Etsy. I'm a huge fan of her work and now have a few of her pieces about the house.

Tomorrow is my bday! I'm planning on offering free shipping in my Etsy shop to celebrate. I'm hoping to do some fun bead and thrift store shopping tomorrow, but may have to work on the kitchen demo instead. Hmm, maybe I can find a way to do both. :-)

Double Digits

Peanut Butter and Chocolate Icecream cake from Cold Stone Creamery, yum!

Nothing like your child hitting the double digits to make you feel old. How has ten years passed so quickly?

A game of Magic Quest.

We celebrated his birthday last week with a big hurrah at Great Wolfe Lodge.

Bunk bed fun.

It was a ton of fun and a great way to end the summer. The boys go back in just a little over a week. Eeek, there is still so much we want to do before the fall routine begins!
