Goodbye Funk

I have to admit I have been in a bit of a funk since Christmas. Have not felt like making anything, cleaning the house or studio, or doing much of anything. I suppose it's a combination of the post Christmas "blahs" and sheer exhaustion! Do any of you ever feel this way?
Had a nice surprise this afternoon to help get me out of this funk - my nest in branches necklace was featured in a lovely treasury that made it to the front page. Thank you Etsy administration (whoever you are!)

Bad News, Good News

Well, I found out that I did not get accepted into the Arts Around the Lake Show. I have been trying to tell myself that I should just use this as a challenge to improve my work and try again next year. I have to admit though that I was feeling a bit down about it. However, what a wonderful surprise this afternoon to see my bees on the front page of Etsy today! Thanks so much to kaleprimitifs for including me in her fabulous woods theme treasury, it totally turned me down around! :-)

So Nice to Be Noticed

The life of an artist and crafter is an emotional roller coaster ride. One day you may feel like no one likes your work, why do you bother? The next, you might feel on top of the world! I've been lucky enough to have several "on top of the world days" lately.
My sea shell fine silver post earrings were featured in a Etsy Spotlight article in the Storque (Etsy's Online News).
Then today I was so excited to see my flower vase necklace on the front page of Etsy! Thanks so much to Knots for featuring me in her super cool "loco" treasury, yay!!!

The Flu, Broken Bone, The Front Page - Oh My!

What a week! My youngest son, husband and I have all been hit hard by the flu. My 8 year old son managed to break his collarbone wrestling with a friend. He is ok, just bummed he can't play at recess. ;-)
Then Thursday night I lay on the sofa watching American Idol, feeling totally pathetic and miserable with this nasty flu. I finally got up to go to bed and decided to check emails before bed. What a wonderful surprise - - - -
I had a box full of emails including several orders and a couple emails congratulating me on being featured on the front page. My bird nest pendant from my Artwork shop had been featured in a lovely treasury. Yippee! If I had not been feeling so sick I would have been dancing around the room with glee. So a huge thank you Pineblossoms at Etsy for turning my week around. Check out her shop if you have the time, she has some adorable items!
