Birds and a Panda

My latest ACEO's - birds and a panda. Kind of a strange combination I know, but I seem to be on both a bird and jungle animal kick lately. Once again they are ink and watercolor, I really enjoy painting in this style. You will find these along with some other new work in either my Etsy store or on Ebay.
"Glorious Goldfinch" 2 1/2" x 3 1/2" Watercolor and Ink
"Bamboo Snack" 2 1/2" x 3 1/2" Watercolor and Ink
"Summer Tanager" 2 1/2" x 3 1/2" Watercolor and Ink

New ACEO's

I have been BUSY continuing to set up my new shop Artistic Creations
at Etsy. However, I did find time last week to paint a few ACEO's.
"Lines of Wisdom" Watercolor and Ink 2 1/2 x 3 1/2"
"Hummingbird and the Lilacs" Watercolor and Ink 2 1/2 x 3 1/2"
"Proud Peacock" Watercolor and Ink 2 1/2 x 3 1/2"
I had so much fun making these and I am happy to say that all three paintings have found a new home. I am hoping to find time in the next couple days to do a few more ACEO's. I am thinking about painting farm animals this time.

"Sulking" gets Honorable Mention at Exhibition!

Afraid I have not had time to post much with the local exhibition last week and the Pet Expo this past weekend. However, I am very excited to say that my piece "Sulking" got an honorable mention. It was a wonderful feeling to have one of my paintings recognized at my very first exhibition. The paintings will be on display through March.

More Recent Work

I have really been enjoying working with ink and watercolors. So I have continued on, and created a bull dog , a rabbit, and a wolf. I had the most fun with the wolf. The background was created by sprinkling table salt in the wet watercolor bath. Simple, but very effective.

I decided I would try creating a "store" at Cafe Press with these four images. I had a great time putting my images on a variety of objects such as T-shirts, mugs, notebooks, and more. You can check it out at:

Recent Work

For the New Year I found myself wanting to try something new. I tried dabbling with my new acrylics (a Christmas gift from my family). However, I found myself getting impatient and frustrated with this medium and my results. Also, after all the color pencil portrait commission work I had done for the holidays, I felt it would be nice to take a short break from them as well. So, I bought myself a ink pen and dusted off the set of watercolors I had been given as a birthday gift several years ago. I thought it might be interesting to combine my love of drawing with the watercolors. I have been having so much fun!!! I love the detail I am able to get with the ink, but I am also enjoying the looseness I am able to achieve with the watercolors.
Here is the first:
"Tiger in Bamboo" 9 x 10 India ink and watercolor
